I chose to look at Weebly because it is a free way for someone to make a website for their portfolio. they give you lots of options to pick from when creating your website. once you create a website off off Weebly people can start viewing your work, and they can start purchasing designs or prints that you add to your website. I think it very cool that you could potentially make money off of a website your created for free. I really like that Weebly gives you the option to create a website for free because some people don’t have the money to pay a monthly subscription to have there own website. But with Weebly you can start getting your name out their for free.

Adobe Portfolio

Adobe Portfolio is an amazing site to view peoples personal portfolios as well as make your own. It’s incredibly easy to navigate and use. There are four tabs at the top of the page. In overview, you can edit your own site. The menu to edit your site is very user friendly. Fonts, colors, size and everything is straight to the point in a menu bar on the left side of your screen. The photography page is very similar to the overview. The layout is the same but you can view photography oriented examples in it. It also mentions Adobe Lightroom for editing. The examples tab is exactly what it sounds like. Inspiration can be found with different portfolios from designers, artists, photographers, etc… The last page is resources on Adobe softwares and universal tips for creative people. I found Adobe Portfolio during the Covid 19 pandemic. I used my time to create my own portfolio for mostly photography and art. I recommend this site for anyone trying to organize and display work. Here is a picture of my home page below.

Cargo

The creative viewing work site I chose for this vlog is the site Cargo. They allow for complete customization of your website. They give you a free trial and then you would be charged $14 per month billed yearly and $19 per month billed monthly. They have a wide variety in the fonts that one could choose from as well and feature the work of graphic designers on their page under their “sites in use tab” as well as show you what it can look like being used for graphic design under the templates tab. Overall, despite the price, Cargo is a great site for graphic designers to showcase their work. Below is an example of an artist utilizing their site. Online Portfolio: Arlen McCluskey

Arlen McCluskey is a UX designer, so naturally they have a super clean digital portfolio that effectively makes use of software and web design. I love how simple the landing page is and how the design is a reflection of the designer’s values. The soft gradient background is a perfect visual representation of clarity, empathy, and integrity.

I also love that all of their projects offer a phone-like screen click through. For the full experience you can visit their website here. I think that this is really effective to get a quick grasp of their design in action. When you do click on each individual work, there’s a more in-depth case study-like article explaining how they reached the final product.
